After a FM a selloff occurs a high % of the time on the 3rd day, 5th day or 1st day.

The logic is to play the put side looking to get a big lick by the 5th day. I have not asked him about it, I imagine he decided the third day was the day to play for...not today.

His stats show that on days fitting today's pattern the close has been positive 72.7% of the time. Further, days after a Monday holiday have been positive 77% of the time.

These and various other stats perhaps persuaded him to go long.

A moving average technique that I know he uses also indicated a long position.

Whatever I said to Electric I meant at the time. I was prepared to short today....looking at Camp's stuff as well as a few other's persuaded me to hesitate. I almost actually went long around 10:30 EST but waited a tad too long.

Now you have two Jerseyans putting "tads" on you.
