If we want to better understand Trump supporters, we should think of them as his congregation. He is their savior. He preaches to their fears and sense of victimhood. He empowers them. He rallies them. He emboldens them. He tells them who to blame. He becomes their truth. He is the answer. Any assault on him is an assault on them. Do not deceive yourself into thinking your facts and logic can penetrate their emotional armor.
