Ah yes. First lesson learned on preferreds for me is to never invest in a preferred when the common doesn't pay a dividend.
I lost money on my first common stock purchase too.
If that would have stopped me instead of getting me to learn more, my kids and grandkids wouldn't be dividend growth investors today.
