Watch out for this logic with eps. The "street" only cares about diluted eps, not basic. Read the research on other companies who recently reported (e.g., HMTT). HMTT reported basic eps of $0.48, but diluted eps of $0.40. The $0.40 eps was the number that all the analysts addressed.

they expect no sequential growth in the "next" qtr.... not for the year...

Correct, but unfortunately that's as far ahead as many look. Plus they said

"Innovex continues to foresee an increase in unit volume later this fiscal year. The timing of this increase will determine the company's level of profitability for fiscal 1998 as a whole."

This means that they can't predict if they'll have sequential annual growth or not. Uncertainty is not a Good Thing.

HIF's now shipping in production volume, ramping up for three more projects. This is good.

Will remain profitable while others will experience losses, but will not have sequential or year-to-year quarterly growth for Q2 (ending March 31). It was unsaid if "profitable" means $0.40 or $0.01 per share, but we know it will be no more than Q1's $0.48/share, a decline from last year's Q2 of $0.66/share which may spook some investors.

These numbers are from the company web site and I don't know if the $0.66 is adjusted for dilution or not.
