IBM Shares:

<<I just got off of the phone with Steve Snyder(CFO) and he thought that there has been no change in IBM's ownership in the last year. It was his opinion that the 970,000 shares was in error(i.e.- too high).>>

The Proxy for last year ( May 28, 1997) showed IBM with 865,000 shares.

Craig S2,

Thanks for the clarification. I did find the Vickers report, and the 970,000 share figure was PRIOR to the Schedule 13G in January of 1997, which showed 865,000. (See my follow-up message to my original post.)

The timing of an announcement by Sun (or anyone else) is what makes an ANCR investment so speculative. As others have said, if you believe Ancor has a legitimate shot at one or more storage OEM contracts, in addition to their existing end-user business, they could grow revenues significantly by the end of the year. Unfortunately, I have a hunch that the price will already reflect it before the official news hits the wires.
