> Once an illegal has a child born in the US, i.e. birthright citizenship, they can get the whole spectrum of benefits for that child.

Exactly correct. The gateway to permanent residency and federal benefits is to drop an anchor baby.

Who wants to deny the parents of an American citizen a job, or health care, or housing, or any other federal benefit. Anchor babies are a scam of the greatest magnitude and the greatest benefit to the Democratic party.

The DNC knows this and maximizes their opportunities for long term benefit.

AFAIK, the EITC has always been a refundable credit, meaning you could receive a refund even if you didn’t pay in. I know it was from inception through 92 and in 95 through 98. I would not have known whether it was different since then, for sure.

I know this: Lines at refund anticipation storefronts are longer than ever. It is a profitable business and I just noticed this week a high school friend who runs a janitorial runs a damned tax preparer/RAL business. If you have an office in a crappy part of town, it is perfect.

When I last practiced as a CPA I did a return for a brother to a tax attorney we referred to. This guy came to us to get his taxes done. I think he probably made more than we did.

Don't you have to file taxes to get an EITC? I've known a lot of illegals, having lived in a couple of barrios. I've known some who paid taxes on their paychecks using a fake SS number, but I haven't known any who filed a return and got a refund, or any EITC.

They're really the best kind of taxpayer for the country.
