I have had many ethnically and culturally Jewish friends in my life,disproportionately many, I suppose, on reflection. All my adult Jewish friends have been utterly secular, best I could tell. That said, I can't recall a friend of any stripe who wasn't utterly secular. Maybe it's an inadvertent birds-of-a-feather thing or maybe my environment has just been particularly secular. So, assumed that the same applied to Bernie--a natural product of his cultural heritage but not particularly religious if at all. I didn't recall that being an issue in the campaign, as was suggested in the post to which I responded.
