NEW YORK, Jan 20 (Reuters) - SoundView Financial Group said analyst Albert Lin lowered his short-term rating on Qualcomm Inc to hold from buy, keeping a long-term buy rating on the stock. -- maintained earnings estimates at $2.30 for fiscal 1998 and $3.56 for fiscal 1999.

Soundview Downgrades QCOM to hold. Holding estimates steady. No reason given. I guess they wanted to pick some shares up before the announcement today!

Qcom dropped from 70 to 40s because of S. Korea. That's a haircut of almost half of the company's market cap. I don't believe half of this company's value relies on the S. Koreans.
