i guess the thing that is bothering me,is why the outstanding bids which were at a higher price were not filled when the block crossed at the lower level, and why the asks(which were at a lower price) were not filled when the blocks crossed at a higher price.

isn't there some sort of "Roberts Rules of Order" for the executions?
can someone refer me to a reference manual on the way executions are carried out?
