"Jobs was not a one-hit wonder like those occupying Apple today"

Maybe he should have said that every CEO should take at least 5 acid trips.

No I wasn't. You weren't either. Cringely claims he was. Given Jobs ouster from Apple, it doesn't surprise me that he would have been of the opinion that business execs needed to have their minds broadened. So it is very consistent with his mindset.

I never said he was a one hit wonder. But being a visionary doesn't mean you can be successful. Especially in tech. Jobs was a a self-promoter. Many people talked about his reality-distortion field. Just like they talked about Bill Clinton having one. I doubt seriously if those were the only two people that could be said about.

The years of the personal computer revolution was a special time. The years leading up to a technological singularity always are. I doubt if this will be the last one.
