Greeting from a first time poste to this thread,

Just wanted to say hi and that I swapped some Dell profits into some MRK @87 in early Nov. and am enjoying the ride so far. Those PC stocks can drive you crazy and I was looking for a little "safe shelter" from the volatility. I think MRK will treat all long-term holders well.

Good luck to all,
JH

Mariola Hagger was just on CNBC. MRK is her #1 pick and Deutche Morgan Grenfel just put them on their US Focus list. The AHP/SBH merger has been discussed on CNBC all day today. They have had Kevin Wilson and Arvind Desai on, and David Favor and Joe Kernan have done reports on the merge and the entire sector. I have put synopsis of the reports on Links to Ligand:
home.att.net as well as Financial Times and WSJ reports. They are under the SBH and AHP Alliances.

Nick, we posted almost exactly at the same time. Anyway, I bought MRK on that fateful day when the DOW dropped precipitiously and MRK was at 82. I was planning on holding it for a long time, but I didn't exepct a 40% risw in 2 1/2 months, which is tempting me to cash in on my profits.
