selected the Rourke/MS&L high-technology office of Manning Selvage &
Lee for public relations counsel.

Comcast Completes Acquisition of Long Distance Carrier GlobalCom

WAYNE, Pa., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA - news, CMCSK -
news) today announced it had completed the acquisition of GlobalCom Telecommunications, Inc., a
regional based long distance provider. The carrier will operate as Comcast Telecommunications
and will manage Comcast's other telecommunications products and services. Comcast
Telecommunications will offer customers a complete package of telecommunications solutions,
including long distance service, business telephone equipment, digital and analog cellular, paging,
wireless data, private communications networks, and Comcast Commercial Internet Service, which
provides businesses with high-speed access to the Internet via cable modem technology.

According to David N. Watson, president of Comcast Cellular Communications, Inc., the
acquisition of GlobalCom will complement the company's efforts to provide customers with a
broad range of communications services such as local, long distance, calling card, and private line
services.

of communications solutions from Comcast would add tremendously to their productivity and
efficiency,'' Watson said.
