Norman we can and should compare the AMTX buyout to Aware because it is the one thing we have to compare to. You are correct in pointing out the differences, but let's not ignore the simularities.

"But I think that it strongly benefits the small Aware investors that Aware remain an independent company as long as possible, because that will only cause the buyout price to rise. So I don't see a buyout happening in the immediate future (next 12 months)."

I've never known the small investor to be of great concern to those who will decide the future of a company.

Aware with $30 million is under funded for R&D and has already pointed out it has had problems finding the talent they desire within the limited work force available. Both these things are good reasons to merge or sell. If done like the AMTX deal it could still operate to some degree independent from the buyer.
