thanks for the reply. i did read that amazon is getting smarter on their shipping of heavier and bulkier items, and is looking for profitability in their deliveries (which includes getting merchants to change their packaging or dropping items).

Bill, I live alone as I know you do. We're close to the same age although I think I enjoy a little better health situation. The amount of goods you buy from all these sources just amazes me. Your pantry much be nearly overflowing with multiples of almost everything. I don't understand how you can use so much STUFF.

I've never gone with Amazon Prime simply because I don't order, or need, enough from them. I've even made an effort to list my monthly purchases to see if it would benefit me but the numbers don't work. Ditto for a Costco membership. No way I would use their multiples of product in any reasonable time period.

I live within a couple miles of Walmart and my Kroger grocer (or Safeway). A couple easy trips a week provides me with my needs and I seem to still have a good supply on hand most of the time.

Mind you, I'm not being critical here, I just can't see how you can use all the stuff you tell us you purchase.
