Merger votes set for 3/2/98

news got some attention for MOOV & VUPDA

MOOV merger value at 1 7/8 based on closing bid for VUPDA of 2 1/2.

On th subject of short interest, anyone short VUPDA at this point has probably bought 1 1/3 times as many shares of MOOV. This way it's a win for them as long as the deal goes through, or they close out prior to vote when the discount srinks. Not sure why anyone would still be holding short interest in MOOV.

Anyway you look at it MOOV looks like a solid short term play as VUPDA would need to drop over 20% before the merger price would be less then todays cloing price. This deal looks to me like an all but done deal as institutions hold 37.8% of VUPDA so they have more then likely already let the company know exactly how they feel about the deal. Institutions only hold 16.9% of MOOV but the premium is good and can't see it not being passed.
