*There is an open question about who can be counted as "the press". The corporate media think only they count* Hopefully the corporate media are in their death throes. Viewership is down for nightly network news; newspaper readership has plummeted, news magazines are vanishing faster than Hillary supporters, and the UK socialist rag the Guardian begs its readers for donations. CNN only survives because it gets $1billion per year from cable fees (same with Fox, andMSNBC)). That system too will change as consumers will eventually be able to cherry pick which cable channels they receive. Small craft news outlets like the daily pundit and the daily caller along with other conservative voices are under threat by the social media giants but now they have been exposed there is a chance they will survive.
