I had been considering KEM as well, for use in an AIM portfolio. It's one of a handful of stocks that has a high beta but also pays a dividend, so as such, I don't care nearly so much about price appreciation as volatility.

I ran it through my AIM spreadsheet and it performed quite nicely in 2018. The stock by itself was up over 12%, not bad for a year when the major averages lost a few percent, though well off the highs from midsummer, just like most everything else.

FWIW-Took the plunge today -New Buy for myself to go with my VSH - KEM- KEMET CORP-Business is slowing and both stock prices reflect that. Buying on the slow - Selling when back on the grow.
