"And the beat goes on."
Congratulations! Seems like we say that a lot, doesn't it?
Also, thanks.

Dear Helen,

I'd like to express my personal thanks for your taking the time to post on this thread, while knowing how busy you are. Although you don't ("can't" is my reasonable assumption!) post often, I'm certain that many others than myself value your input here every time you're able to post.

And congratulations on the media firm--from what I've been able to gather so far, they look pretty savvy.

A warm shalom from a satisfied shareholder,

Paul Hofmann

Mundane, practical question: Helen, did the info about Westlake hotels and the shareholders meeting get posted? Been checking & nothing new seems to be there. Gotta finalize travel plans before too much longer. Thanks alot.

Just saw a short piece on Asia Business News about IT.
(not sure if it's on their home page but that can be found at
abn-online.com

It explained Internet Telephony and gave a quick down and dirty.

They had a gentleman from Vocaltec who explained it while
mentioning his company's name at least 5 times in 30 seconds.
The narrator pointed out the problems with clarity and the
possible requirements for special software needed for the
first generation of IT applications.

Another gentelman from Lucent said that it seems more complex
than it really is and that we should just consider IT
as "multimedia messaging", sort of a step up from e-mail.

IT has progressed, they said, because the interface was based
on open standards vice proprietary.
They mentioned that quality is improving and that the next
generation will sound better.

The last speaker from DSC (?) mentioned that regulatory issues
would probably be worked out but that costs will come down.

Two thoughts:
(1) Most of the world is waking up to IT.
(2) FTEL needs to make our name as well known as those other
companies that are currently associated with IT.

regards,
gary
