Carl, that is an interesting speculation about buyout negotiations..

If that were the case a buyer may require a news blackout period... I don't think it would be in the best interest of all parties to announce anything until negotiations are finalized or at least a letter of intent or understanding. The SEC may see it this way also...
Don't want to be accused of diseminating misleading info...

I have been thinking about this for quite a while because there would be no reason for NOT giving an update about the VLT's even if it were another delay but to have absolutely no news is not in NorAm's best interest nor has it been NorAm's standard...

I do believe that investors are tired of waiting for a release that hasn't come, yet...

Carl--Good post. I have been trying to figure out the reason for such an abrupt change in the communications. I have called the PR firm LBI and they of course claim no knowledge. But it is interesting that in early Dec Jeff was encouraging everbody to call George and telling everybody how George liked to talk to prospective stock holders . He was right I called George and we talked for about 1 1/4 hours. Then after the posting of the Presidents Message on the Web site on 12/29-30, there seems to have been an abrupt change. If he was told by his attorneys not to be so free with info this can be stated.

I have been involved with companies which have gone through QP periods. I have one now DCTC that has been in that mode since mid-November but we have been informed that the Quiet Period will end tonight at 4:30.and there will be a release of information either this evening or tomorrow AM. You are right we could be going through a QP, if the company is in discussions with others on deals that would effect the stock. However ,it is my understanding that it is ok to announce that a QP is in affect.

Carl one correction:

I never said anything about the mirage, all i said was their were two companies, someone else started that ridiculous mirage rumor, i saw it on another thread when it came out.

Steve Wynn would have nothing to do with this company, othere would though

As far as your post i think it was an excellent well thought out speculation on what could be the scoop.
