Digimarc Corporation, the leader in digital watermarking, today announced that it closed its second round of outside financing

Adobe Ventures L.P. and Justsystem, Inc. in the latest round of funding.

Since 1995, Digimarc has successfully provided digital watermarking solutions to thousands of individuals and leading U.S.

and signals the importance of its technology for communicating and tracking usage of corporations' visual brand and intellectual
property assets. - more - "As an international leader involved in the creation and distribution of both news pictures and video,
we recognize the need for tools enabling the identification and tracking of valuable visual assets on the Web," said John
Taysom, director of new business development of Reuters. "I envision Digimarc watermarking will be a key element of
Reuters' digital content strategy."

In September 1997, Digimarc and Macrovision announced a joint effort to develop digital video copy protection technology
for future video platforms, including DVD. This collaboration will also get a boost from the latest round of financing, enabling
Digimarc to further develop digital watermarking products and services for a variety of video formats and applications. Such
developments will fulfill the copyright protection, identification and tracking needs of video producers and distributors as they
migrate to a variety of digital formats and delivery systems.

"Watermarking will play an important role in future video delivery platforms, and Digimarc is a leader in the field," said John
Ryan, chairman and CEO of Macrovision. "Our joint effort, underscored by our investment, confirms our goal to develop and
market comprehensive intellectual property protection solutions for DVD and other digital formats."

"Our success in bringing image identification and tracking solutions to major corporations, together with our new video product
efforts has given powerful options to companies wishing to protect their intellectual property," said Philip J. Monego, Sr.,
chairman of Digimarc. "Digimarc's approach has been to develop products and services in conjunction with the needs of our
customers and strategic partners. This round of investment adds capital and world class strategic allies which allow us to
aggressively take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead."
