They may have evidence that Guccifer is a Russian Agent. It's possible Assange did not know that.

Well, if that's the case, then Assange certainly did lie. Not at all. The attribution of Guccifer happened later, at the time he was thought to be a Romanian hacker now differentiated as Guccifer 1.0. The attribution of the individuals now called Guccifer 2.0 happened in 2018.
