Occam's Razor ? A two fer... 1.) Note all the scaffolding around the cathedral ? Workmen were doing what ? Liability issues ? 2.) If I were thinking a bit more conspiratorially... noting the wealthy families quickly ponying up 100's of millions for the restoration ? I'd want to know for sure exactly what might have happened to the art works that were being removed so promptly to ensure that none were damaged. Just sayin. And a 3rd... a cynic, if I were able to locate one, might think that an interest in bringing the French people together... might make someone think it was worth it ?
