CNBC did a summary report. They indicated that a major driver of deal was need for R&D funds to discover blockbuster drugs. They mentioned that PFE was up 3 1/4 to an all time high. MRK was up 6 3/16 to an all time high also. LLY and WLA were also mentioned. They mentioned Redux liability for AHP and SBH's Augmenton going off patent. Another analyst predicted that mid-cap pharmas would now be looking to merge and he mentioned Astra, SGP, WLA, ZEN, and PNU as likely candidates.
