Everything to these people is a political statement meant to advance their cause.

They cannot conceive of entertaining nonsense sung and listened to to relax and pass the time.

So to them Smith was using her microphone to convince people to reenslave African Americans.

"The New York Yankees‘ anti-racism efforts have extended to pulling from their seventh-inning stretch a famous recording of the legendary Kate Smith singing 'God Bless America.'

I wish they'd all just go back to singing "Take me out to the ball game" during the seventh inning stretch.
