I see unreal expectations surfacing on a daily basis, as well. The most extreme example surfaced several weeks ago on another SI thread. One of the posters indicated that his friend just took a cash advance on his credit card to purchase stocks. I replied to the post by stating that one should never take out a loan at 19% to purchase stocks. Why pay 19% interest when the person would be lucky to realize a return of 15% per year in the stock market over the long run?

The SI threader replied, "How about 15% per month!!!
