Trump’s attorney eagerly asserted that there is “nothing wrong with taking information from Russians.”

On Sunday’s edition of CNN’s State of the Union, President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani defended Trump's 2016 presidential campaign by saying that "there's nothing wrong with taking information from Russians.”

He proclaimed that there was “no crime” in accepting information from a foreign entity with unknown or nefarious motives.

When asked by host Jake Tapper if he thought that doing so would be wrong, he complained, “We’re going to get into morality?”

"That isn't what prosecutors look at, morality,” he continued.

His comments were made in response to criticism from Utah Senator Mitt Romney of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign following the release of the redacted Mueller report.

"I am also appalled that, among other things, fellow citizens working in a campaign for president welcomed help from Russia - including information that had been illegally obtained; that none of them acted to inform American law enforcement," the former 2012 presidential candidate said on Twitter.

Giuliani proceeded to call Romney a “hypocrite” and that he’d “like to take a good look at Romney’s campaign.”
