emichael-

i dont know for sure, but i think any DMT variant of g.lite is going to have to be based on AMTX technology, which TI now owns. heres the catch....WSTL and TI are working together on g.lite.

plus, MSFT and GTE areboth working closely with WSTL...i would be suprised to see WSTL left out of any of this.

BTW--g.lite=splitterless DSL=(?)CDSL

good luck to all,
trey

emichael...

" but I don't know what they have to offer now that AMTX was bought by
TXN."

Are you serious??? WSTL has Amati's DMT available through their strategic alliance with TI as well as their own CAP technology and DMT/MOT and now Lucent and so on and so on...

Re-read the article "consortium is relying IN PART (key word) on Aware., though the group has NOT FINISHED developing its technical protocols."

ALSO , one of the main telephone companies involved is GTE and guess who GTE has ONLY performed trials with...WSTL!!! ONLY WSTL!!! NOBODY ELSE...JUST WSTL...GET IT???

PLUS, Microsoft's home office is wired with, Guess who??? You got it...WSTL!!!

Who cares who gets what anyway, there is plenty to go around. The point is that xDSL is getting PRESS and BIG PRESS it is. It was only a couple of months ago that xDSL (US West offering xDSL in Phoenix) was on the cover of USA today.

Let the games begin...CABLE vs RBOCS...everyone wins!!!

GO ADSL!!!
