How much does it cost for a press release with Reuters...Only $35 million When was the last time MRVC had a Reuters news release. Actually this may qualify as a Whittaker Release. I'll take what we can get. :-) Tuesday January 20, 12:22 pm Eastern Time Whittaker to sell Xyplex business to MRV SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 20 (Reuters) - Aerospace company Whittaker Corp. said Tuesday it would sell its Whittaker Xyplex Inc. subsidiary to MRV Communications Inc. ((MRVC - news) for $35 million in cash and warrants to purchase up to 500,000 shares of MRV. Xyplex makes products for wide-area computer networks, while MRV specializes in making computer-networking devices. Simi Valley, Calif.-based Whittaker makes fluid-control and fire-safety systems for aerospace and industrial applications and turnkey data networking for hospitals and other companies. ''This sale essentially completes our restructuring of the company and refocuses us on our core aerospace business,'' Whittaker Chief Executive Joseph Alibrandi said. Shares of Whittaker were 11/16 higher at 10-3/4 early Tuesday afternoon, while MRV's stock was up 1 at 24-1/2.
