Maurice I was thinking not even to respond, but the ignorance you demonstrated for the sake of all tread participants prompted me to respond. Would appreciate if you would just read and learn. I have no desire to respond to your posts.

The albedo of soil covered by a blanket of snow or seas covered by ice is around 90% compared to about 6% of the albedo of open oceans.
Around 50 to 54% of the sun energy is returned to the outside space depending on cloud coverage and seasons (the northern hemisphere has much more landmass covered by snow in winter than the southern hemisphere).

The diagram below demonstrated the effects of GHG, which are composed of CO2 CH4 (methane) and various NOx compounds which trap the reflected energy into the earth atmosphere and by this increasing the earth atmosphere temperature if on land or oceans. Please visit the NASA site to learn.

Best think of our reaction to warm weather, 25C is pleasant, 29C to 30C is considered hot, at 40C you are dehydrating and die. At 15C you feel very cold if dressed for 29C, and those are relative minuscule temperature changes as related to the extremes on earth.

Water that comprises most of the earth surface when frozen and under glaciers return over 90% of solar radiation back to space. When ice is melting on a change of less than 1.5 C in ambient temperature the oceans absorb about 94% of solar irradiation, compared to an albedo of 90% when covered by ice.

I hope that this simple explanation has somewhat enlighten you and you understand now why fisheries are in the most danger as there is no place to hide.
