I was particularly impressed that Gerstner noted storage and databases as doing well. I had suspected that woes at ORCL and Seagate et al. were only part Asian, and that IBM has simply got its act together in these sectors and is starting to demand its due.

This company would sure look good if the dollar would weaken somewhat. Won't happen for a while though. Most people say the Yen is heading above 150. I'm impressed that they stay on schedule, despite some difficulties. Mainframes didn't bail them out as some thought. On the other hand, the quarter was well managed, by buying just the right amound of stock...
