Regarding the foldable phone it's probably like the 737 Max 8 = don't fly it like that. Or the iPhone aerial = don't hold it like that.

For the Samsung = don't bend it back like that.

Even steel can be broken by bending it back and forth over its yield point.

I guess they didn't allow for chimps trying to use the foldable phone. In the old days people would try to fold maps and make a hash of it as they couldn't fold it back into the original folds. So maps would soon be torn and unusable.

That's great for Apple that they have you hostage and can charge $thousands for each upgrade and you can't escape. Unfortunately my Qualcomm royalty is based on the wholesale price with a maximum.
