Requires that the right questions to ask, in times like this, are about the "tells" that you will see, when the news of the day is dominated by the conflicts between the branches... Even when everybody is playing it straight... you will still often see heated debate, because that's the design... but that heat and smoke tends to play itself out as the sorting of the origins in conflicts occurs... and people get put back into their own lanes. Congress will seek to use POLITICS as a tool to address things... that politics aren't well suited to address... because politics is the tool that Congress has, making everything look like a political nail to the partisans there. Knowing the Constitution and its history... helps. Being able to recognize it when you're being lied to... helps. Noting it when people reverse field from prior arguments... only because the change is now useful ? Being capable of understanding the motivations driving people's actions... helps. Recognizing it when "good faith" isn't the driver of people's choices... " Recognizing when "self interest" is dominating other considerations... making the rest "tactics" vs. "principle" ? Recognizing when someone is feeling "trapped" and how they act when knowing they're caught ? Self assurance can come from different sources too... also requiring analysis when people seem to be acting outside the norm for what we judge is consistent, or what their character admits or requires... The next month will be eye opening for a lot of people on the left...
