Overall I think it is a positive cc. I think the ests for 98 may be a little on the low side.

zacks now lists ascend as 16 buys, 11 holds, and only 2 sells--as this changes over the next few weeks with a few more upgrades, after having a good quarter and good prospects, we should see a move up--but all this talk about $40-$50 is a little dreamy.........but i hope you all are right.

Hi Gary, Again you've done a wonderful job, thanks for your efforts in provided us the valued info of CC. Whew! finally I can relax, watching ASND ascend after its 4 months Market Dog. The earning is good, Conference is excellent, Analyst is up grade it one by one. Wall-street start pay attention back, momentum is picking up, Networks industry is healthy in general.. I wouldn't say ASND will be 32 by tomorrow or 35 by friday... but steadily it's going high.

Regards;

Duke

Gary, I have nothing substantive to add specific to ASND except my sincere appreciation for the RT on the conference call this afternoon.

I was glued to my PC looking real busy. At any rate, cheers to you, Sector, Addi, and all others that were hanging around here @ $22 - $23. Still down on ASND overall, but it sure feels better!

I couldn't resist peeling away a few ASND shares this A.M. @ 30.75 and moving into CPQ @ $58 were I have been building a position of late. (split 2:1 @ close today). While I will continue to sell some ASND into strength in order to diversify my portfolio and take advantage of some tech bargains, I will continue to hold a large # of ASND shares for a long long time. As a fellow ASND investor at my office said today "I didn't stand in line to not go on the ride".

The beer tastes great, but I'm holding out for champagne!

Regards,

Larry

Excerpts from thestreet.com on the conference call:

The upshot: Ascend has regained its footing despite troubles last summer and fall in its crucial MAX TNT product line...

... But there are broader implications for the sector...

First, Cisco hasn't knocked out these two rivals(ANSD and BAY) with price competition.

Second, despite the worries about a seasonal January slowdown, phone carriers are still spending lots of money on data networking products.

Finally, companies with Asian exposure can compensate with sales in Europe and North America...
