When I was eight or nine years old, my favorite thing in the world was seeing how far I could fly off the swing set. There was a concrete curb about 30 feet from the axis of the swing set. One day I got a few feet away from the concrete, and thought, "this is a victory" don't crush yourself with a few more feet...

I can recall diving towers with platforms up to 35' at Seattle area lakes at least in to the '70's.

And I slid on slides probably 20' high at Loren Farr Park in Ogden when I was eight or so (at least that's the way I remember them).
