According to The Independent, the House Judiciary will vote Wednesday to decide if they should hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress. Barr, Trump’s appointee, has incited controversy over his handling of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report. The report investigated if there was Russian interference in the 2016 election. Democrats say he lied to Congress about the fact that he knew members of Mueller’s team were “frustrated” by his statements following the report’s completion. The report detailed several examples of possible obstruction of justice. Barr did not appear for a second day of testimony on Capitol Hill and also failed to meet the Monday deadline to provide the House Judiciary Committee a full and unredacted copy of the Mueller report. "The Attorney General's failure to comply with our subpoena, after extensive accommodation efforts, leaves us no choice but to initiate contempt proceedings in order to enforce the subpoena and access the full, unredacted report," House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said in a statement. Monday, the committee cited Barr for contempt over a panel subpoena seeking the full Mueller report. The committee also set a meeting to consider whether or not to adopt the report for Wednesday at 10:00am.
