When I was young, I didn't like working on the farm. I wanted to get away from it. But now that I am an old codger, I have mostly fond memories of it. Funny how that works, eh?

My wife went to NIU. Small world. I grew up in a small town in Northeast Kansas, but have lived in Illinois most of my life. Both full of corn, very similar. I did not grow up on a farm, but I know that life is hard. Seems romantic and quaint, but it is more difficult and brutal based on what the friends that grew up on farms say. And you would think there are no politics , it is a honest but difficult living, but there are farm subsidies ...
