That just proves he has good accountants. Newspaper reporters could never understand how all of that works. For example, depreciation allowances are income in reality if the value of the asset is really increasing. Since he doesn't flip those properties very often, he would rarely recognize the true gains. Amazon lost money on paper for almost 20 years. But let them be idiots. It is certainly nothing new out of the New York Times.
