Jim,

Intel is going into the networking market on the low end. Although, Cisco sells products on the low end, this is only a small part of the business. In addition, Cisco is a household name among Network Administrators. Cisco is the Rolls Royce of the industry. Intel will be able to erode 3Com's market share, but they can't touch Cisco. The only danger to Cisco over the next several years will come from Lucent. My solution to that threat is to own Lucent and Cisco in equal shares. That's what I've done for the last year and it has paid off. Don't sell those core holdings of yours. They are primo stocks.

Good luck.

People interested in some background reading and articles may want to go back to the Feb\Mar time frame on this thread. There are some posts. Also Forbes or Fortune ran an article during the same time period regarding what INTC was going to do to COMS. Interested parties should be able to seach those sites and find the article.
