I agree with you. I think most of the judges once elected become non-partisan. Of course there are exceptions. Once appointed, their reputation rests on thier decisions. Any judge, unless he/she is a crook, would like to be remembered as somebody who followed the law than his/her ideology.

In terms of appointed commissioners, this may or may not be the case as those tenures are short term. People in those positions would be considerate of how thier constituents think about thier decisions, once the tenure is over..

Koh was first appointed to the bench by Governor Schwartzneger, a Republican. It's specious to conflate the politics behind judicial appointments, with the anticipated results. There are no Republican nor Democratic judges, only good judges and bad judges.

...........what is specious is you conflating a Schwarzenegger low level judge appointment with an Obama/Feinstein/Boxer attempt to sit Koh on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals........also, apparently she was rumored to be a Clinton SC nominee...........and what about this Republican/Democrat stuff??......I never mentioned political party.............YOU DID................I spoke of ideology.....(conservative or liberal)...............I can name dozens of Republicans that can hardly be called conservative but virtually no Democrats who are NOT liberals. I believe the odds are overwhelming that Koh adheres to a very liberal ideology and there is nothing wrong with discussing how such an ideology MIGHT be applied in this case. I opined that she might rule against the perceived monopoly.................however, now with the Q/Apple settlement and the consequences of her ruling on the US efforts in 5G, she might well have pause.

the censorship of EVERYTHING political on this board is just plain NUTS..............I resent it and reject it....if the moderator can't differentiate valid political discussion from noise, you need a new moderator................the group think on this board in this regard is dangerous.....................I suggest this board get rid of the recommended posts option..............if anything contributes to group think and self censorship, that is it. Also,
if one abhors my posts, put me on ignore. I use that feature extensively.
