Every technology has risks. Fire has risks. The risk reward ratio is what matters. When the risk is that you create a self-aware entity that decides humans are inferior and should be exterminated and combine it with internet connectivity, suddenly there is no reward. Comparing AI with the risk fire poses is more than a bit naïve. When smart people like Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Tim Berners-Lee, Steve Wozniak, Elon Musk, etc. warn us about the dangers of AI, I pay attention.
