But did OXY over pay and increase debt to risky levels? Warren did fine with his Heinz/Kraft thing, but the company hasn't done all that well... I wonder if we see a replay of that and CVX and others who managed their money well through the worst bust in our lifetimes (so far) will be in good shape if OXY screws up. The few times I subbed on an OXY project, they seemed like very competent crew... I never dealt with any of their "suits"... And fwiw, we are dividend-centric here, but have discussed the same 50-100 stocks for so long now, we talk about the stuff we do at the fringes of our PFs -- or at least that would include me... how many times can you keep a conversation going over owning PG? <smile>
