They could be poets or philosophers or community gardeners or whatever under a green new deal, but they'll just be extremely cheap labour if not 'useless mouths' under the current capitalist/corporate paradigm. And fwiw, are you really that sure that A.I. isn't going to learn to design and program those robots better than you anytime soon?
