capitalism -- an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods * private ownership and decision-making * prices, production, and distribution of goods are determined mostly by competition in a free market * the government only has oversight to ensure bad practices are not employed .. in general corporatism, on the other hand, is the organization of a society into industrial and professional corporations * these corporations provide representation of people and activities * they also exercise control over these people and activities within their jurisdiction I am totally a capitalist .. not any part of a corporatist, which is more like socialism to me.
