If there were any honest new reporting on any subject happening now... you'd see the reporters telling us, dispassionately, what the various opinions are that are held on all sides. It isn't the case that opinion can't be a part of the news... but it can't be news if it is advocacy for one opinion, biased against others... rather than a reporting the facts in the range of opinions held by various others. Someone having an opinion isn't news... in isolation... but can be if presented in context, in relation to the other opinions out there ? That sort of reporting used to happen...
