Zuespaul, I was trying to do a bit more than just point out the inner workings of a web site. Some view a thread by the posts that appear on it. I've always felt that the posters represented a tiny portion of the readership. This view has been supported by E-mail from those who rarely, if ever, post.

By letting others know how may visit the website has, I was trying to let others, who view a thread through the small minority of posters, know that they have a very distorted view of reality. I did expect to see many more lurkers than posters, but even I was a bit surpised by the number of visitors (as well as the origin of the lurkers). I think that the numbers also address the concerns posted by others (but rarely seen in E-Mail), that readers are not interested in content, even if presented numerous times in slightly different forms.

Some think that the best threads are the ones with the fewest posts. For some stocks, a few posts are more than enough. But others are considerably more complcated and broader in scope, and they require more content filled posts to be truely understood. Needless to say, I think that the street is still at the very early end of Ligand's learning curve.
