Getting a stock certificate is especially expensive ($50).
That's 'hefty' if you do it. I've actually done it twice
in my life, from Merrill Lynch where I could have gotten
three certificates from Datek (or more) for each trade.

This is bias or bad investigation (I suspect the latter).
There are plenty of real concerns raised on this thread,
but they aren't 'hefty fees'.
