All eyes are on ADSL..Modems are expected to cost about $200..ADSL will give you the ability to talk and surf on the same phone line..No cable required..Modem speed will reach 1.5 million bps..potential future limit 8 million bps..ADSL was developed by Intel, MS, Compaq and Regional Bell phone companies...56k is history!!

Jimily:

Do you know of anyone using ASDL at this time? What limitations are there on this technology? We all know about line noise as a limiting factor with analog modems. Is this a factor? How soon will FCC raise the ceiling on 53Kbps over the phone lines? Any insight would be appreciated.
