Looks like this thread has died, along with the bear market. Yes the bear market at the end of '97 is definitely over and January looks like a bullish month. However, I think that after earnings in Feb we may have a little hi-tech correction and then around April a serious correction. I think we may only go up 12-15% on the dow and S&P which I think a lot of people would consider a pretty crummy year. So it will be tougher this year for the bulls. So don't all you bears give up hope. This isn't the time to be short, but bears will get some limited opportunities in Feb and April, I believe. Still looks like hi-tech is the best place to be short as S&P and Dow look pretty sturdy.
