Gary,
Re -- Losing money for each CPU sold and it would only get worse

With the obsoloesence of the 200Mhz (AMD's yields plunging by 50% more than the already LOW yields), and the price cuts on the 233's and PentiumII's in a couple of weeks, AMD's ASP's could tumble a LOT further.

Of course they will always sell those 1 or 2 at the chipmerchant for the "smart" guys like fuchi, and Tom's hardware man.

Gary, >>Have you noticed their ASP last Q ?<<
I don't follow their $$ numbers... just use their products.
I have read their CEO tends to shoot from the hip. He's
brought the company to the brink more than a few times.
He'll never be accused of being a ANdy Grove.

I suspect AMD will be around, in one form or another,
for a very long time. Somebody will buy them if things
get too rough. Hello IBM!

I don't pretend to know anything about AMD's finances.
I've just been using their products for years.

Mike
