So, therefore I will state that earnings for Q1 WILL be $0.25.

Sector,

Yep. That is exactly what Ashby said in Scottsdale ("we will hit the high end [of guided expectations] each quarter, and save the rest for later"). (He also mentioned the .25/share figure).

And again that is exactly what he said again today (.25/share for 1Q). (Though I think it is too early to take .25/share and cast it in stone...i.e., there is some upside potential.)

Also, notice that the .25/share target is a 4.1% increase over this quarter. Again, that is precisely what mgmt has said: 1Q98 will be low single digits over 4Q. (Then, later, double-digit growth in 2H98).

This is visibility. The question is what this level of predictable revenue growth will do for the stock price.

<< This CFO will TELL YOU THE EXACT NUMBER well in advance, just pay attention. >>
I'm not complaining, but there's a lot you can do with numbers to make yourself right. This CFO has a history of being in companies that get bought out, maybe this is his strategy to get a better price.
JMHO.

1997 q1 was .31 , this year they are projecting only .25 for q1 for 1998, but is this enough to attract street attention/
